Nyanga is one of the best places to visit in the Eastern Highlands. It is rich in beautiful scenery, wonderful waterfalls and adventurous activities. It is one of the most scenic areas of Zimbabwe’s Eastern Highlands. Nyanga is home to the highest peak in Zimbabwe (Nyangani Mountain) which is 2 593m above sea level. When you visit Nyanga you will be spoiled by the fresh mountain breeze, cool weather and perfect spots to relax as families, friends or couples. The 47 000 hectare Nyanga National Park is located 268km away from Harare along the tarred road. Nyanga has cool temperatures with summer temperatures around 26 degrees and winter temperatures around -3 degrees.

Susurumba Mountain – The susurumba mountain stands tall right above the Pine Tree Inn. It is one of the most popular scenic attractions in Nyanga with an altitude of 2050metres. The hike is excellent for bird watching and spotting animals such as monkeys and baboons. The first and oldest geocache in Zimbabwe is located at the summit of the Susurumba. Hiking time is about 90 minutes roundtrip.

MOUNT NYANGANI – Zimbabwe`s highest point at 2592 metres, Mount Nyangani, which is located within the Nyanga National Park, offers a challenging climb and spectacular views of the countryside and surrounding areas. The peak can be reached within 1-3 hours by anyone of average fitness. Three rivers have their sources on Mount Nyangani: the Nyamiziwa, Gairezi (Kairezi) and Pungwe rivers

 NYANGOMBE FALLS – A beautiful series of cascading waterfalls located on the western edge of the Nyanga National Park, a 15minute walk from the car park. The river cascades into a natural pool and a sandy area, locally named Brighton Beach. The fast running cold water is safe to bathe in.

MUTARAZI FALLS –The highest waterfall in Zimbabwe and the second highest in the continent. A short hike to the edge of the escarpment gives you a spectacular view of the waterfalls and the Honde valley, 800metres below. This exhilarating attraction is also home to the Mutarazi Falls Skyline and Skywalk, which enables visitors to ‘sky-walk’ across the 762m high chasm, observing the falls head on, providing a 360-degree perspective of Zimbabwe’s highest waterfall. A dual 90m long zip line and cableway lie parallel overlooking the waterfall, enabling guests to fly or walk with a friend. This makes it the world’s highest Zip Line and an attraction worth visiting.

PUNGWE GORGE & WATERFALLS –Can be viewed from a scenic point of view or drive through the Pungwe drift for a closer view of the river and lush forest area around.

NYANGWE & CHAWOMERA FORTS – Massive stonework with lintelled entrances characterise these examples of Nyanga Ruins built some 400years ago. Pit structures are also located within the national park.

The Claremont Golf Club offers a 9 hole course which can be played back to back for an 18 hole experience. Delightful meals and cold beverages available on site.

Fly Fishing

The finest fly fishing in Zimbabwe can be found in many of the park’s well stocked rivers and lakes including Mare, Udu, Rhodes, Gulliver and Purdon dams. Bream fishing is also available at Udu Dam. Boating, which is another popular activity is also available with rowing boats that can be hired at each dam.

Entry is through National parks. Applicable fees are $5 adults, Kids $2.50 which covers all activities within National Parks (excluding Skywalk & Zipline)

Horse Riding

The Montclair Hotel and Casino also offers Horse riding on site. Rides last an average of 30mins through the valley of the hotel. Applicable fees are $20 per adult and $15 for children.
